The Kettle Cove and Crescent Beach area is one of my favorite places in Maine. So obviously it would be one the first places for me to try my hand at plein air painting. With natures movements this promised to be a challenge. The tide was moving out, exposing more rock every few minutes, the clouds were moving left to right at quite a clip and the sun was moving from in front of me to overhead. The seagulls also made it interesting… apparently they have some interest in tubes of oil paint. I have included a photo of my setup. Sure brings back some great memories.
