With only a short amount of time to work, I painted quickly and loosely, concentrating on color mixing, brushwork, and mark-making rather than detail. Looking back, I think that limitation helped the painting... there was no time to overthink it.
It sold later that day in the wet paint auction, while the paint was still fresh, and now lives somewhere along the Maine coast in a private collection.
